Each year, Preston and Steve spend a week in December living in an RV at the Plymouth Meeting Metroplex Shopping Center to collect food for Philabundance. After hearing about this for several years, I finally made it there on Wednesday, December 03, 2008.
You pull into the Metroplex …

and follow the signs.

Off in the distance you see the tent and hear faint music.

But first, you need some food to drop off. Fortunately, there is a Giant not to far away.
![]()
There they have pre-made $10 bags.
![]()
They might not look like much, but every little bit helps. You drop these off and they get packed up,

and loaded into trucks,

and off they go to where they’re needed. Meanwhile, you can walk around and see what all is there. There’s Preston and Steve’s home away from home,

various other vehicles,

even a reindeer herd.

Then you go into the tent.

When I was there, Pierre was broadcasting live.

And the Marines were collecting for Toys for Tots.

And Steve Morrison was there, despite his voice being raw from talking for days.

While feeding the hungry is a noble cause, it’s not all seriousness in the tent.

Since I was there about lunch time, I managed to get some lunch which was provided by Buca di Beppo.

And I snagged myself a bumper sticker.
